HOLA FAMILIA!!

Querida Familia,
Wow! This week was full of beautiful moments!!

1. FSY!!!
The cheer en español: MUY BIEN! MUY BIEN! MUY BIEN MUY BIEN MUY BIEN HEY (insert the sound of clapping here) FSY!!!
The first part of FSY the Sisters in my district and I taught about how the Book of Mormon is the clave de nuestra religion (sorry I couldn't remember how to say it in English). It went pretty well I think, but really what I want to tell you about is the second part.
The second part of the day, we broke of into companies and missionaries. A group of missionaries went with a company and we taught them how they can be a missionary and teach a principle of the gospel. My group was very beautiful and amazed me at how much these youth know the gospel. Although a few of them were nervous to teach, they all had an amazing spirit with them as they taught! There are some amazing missionaries comin from Mexico pretty soon!

2. SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE: DIVISIONES
Yeah, you heard that right! I went to San Miguel de Allende ( My first area!!!) For divisions with my sister training leaders! Can you guess who was my companion? Hermana Miguez!!! I was sooo happy to be in my first area again and see the people I love! One of my very first investigadors, Sandra, got baptized this week. Wow. It was amazing to see how much the gospel had changed her life. She was nervous but oh so happy to finally be baptized. It was amazing to see how much the area had grown in five months (WOW) and  like I said see the people I love: my comp, investigators, and members. It was a beautiful experience where I learned a lot.

Coming back from San Miguel, my companion, Hermana Noh informed me that we had to leave Hermana Adriana for now because she has no desire to be baptized. It was really hard for me to let her go because she has a special place in my heart, but something beautiful happened too. Do you remember Aarón Lujan? Well, you see right now all of his family are members except for his Dad. Guess what. Carlos Lujan has accepted a baptismal date. Years later, the Lujan family is seeing miracles- first Aarón and now Carlos. The most beautiful thing is that his family finds him reading his book of Mormon in his room and that the book has a permanent place next to his bed on his bedside table. The Lord is surely blessing the Lujan family!!

And the Lord is surely blessing my family at home, too!! Thank you to all who wrote beautiful letters to me this week. I will do my best to answer all of them. The rules have changed a bit and now I only have one hour to write so it might take me a while to write all of you back!

Know that I love you and....

DON'T FORGET TO READ YOUR BOOK OF MORMON. God speaks to you through the Book of Mormon and he has things he wants to tell you.

Tengan una semana de éxito y felicidad!

Les amamos (yo y mi compañera) MUCHÍSIMO!!!!

Con Amor,
Hermana Beardall

p.s. there are a lot of pictures this week. hope you get them.

HERMANA BEARDALL LOVES YOU!!!

Hey family,

Guess what....

HERMANA BEARDALL LOVES YOU!!!!!

It's true, I love y'all a lot.

This week in our Zone Conference, we recieved the news that all the missionaries in the Stakes of Queretaro are going to participate in FSY. WAHOO!!! We are going to spend a whole day with the youth in FSY (previously known as EFY) and we are going to teach them about Chapter 5 of PME- El Libro de Mormón. I am very excited for this experience because out of the 400ish youth participating in FSY, about 50 of them are investigators. This is a wonderful opportunity to share the gospel with the youth that aren't members and find new families to teach. I am excited to see how things will go this Wednesday. (see more next week)

This week we visited one of our investigators, M, that is absolutely ready for baptism except for one major detail- she is afraid of her family and their response to her baptism. She is 21 years old and wow does she have a strong testimony! She told us that everything we teach her has helped her make the hard desicions in her life and helped her have paticence in family difficulties. She is a very strong daughter of God with a strong testimony of the gospel. I would like to ask that you can keep her name in your prayers this week!

Yesterday we had a beautiful experience at church and at the baptism of another ward. We had a new investigator, A, come to church and of his experience, he told my companion and I that he could feel that God was at his side the whole time. He enjoyed going to church because he felt peace there. For me this was a sign that God has his hands in His work and gives His spirit to his children so that they can understand his gospel and his plan for us.

Also, E, the Hermana who has two kids that only speak Misteco (or something like that) came to the baptism that Hermanas in my district had this Sunday. They were extremely nervous because E doesn't speak spanish very well and her kids nothing. But again, the Lord showed me that he is with his children in His work of Salvation. E and her kids went to the baptism and they felt comfortable and a peace. When the ordenance was performed, even the kids were watching intently.

The mission is growing here in Queretaro and in all places in the world because God has His hand in His work!

I hope you have a beautiful week and I will write you en ocho días ( in 8 days or how they say one week here :) )

LES AMAMOS MUCHO!!!!!

Con amor,
Hermana Beardall

P.S. Hermana A. M. (investigador) says hi and thanks for allowing me to come to Mexico :) she's a sweety :)

A Week With New Beginnings and Beautiful Things.

Hola Familia,
I hope your week went well I loved your photos and I hope you enjoyed San Diego :) Keep taking (and sending me) photos!!!!! I love to see what you are doing :)

This week we had the opportunity to visit A M and do service activities. She broke her foot and has nine pins and a plate which means that the house doesn't have anyone to clean it- not true!!!! We can clean it!! :) We cleaned her house and her bandages so that she could feel better about staying in bed all day. With this time that she has in bed every day she has the opportunity to read the Book of Mormon. She enjoys reading and has LOTS of questions and I enjoy explaining with the little Spanish I know what the scriptures mean :)

We also met a woman with two kids in the street. Her kids don't speak Spanish. They speak Misteco (or something like that...). We talked to the mom and invited her to church. We gave her a pamphlet of the Restoration and we noticed that the little boy wanted to see the photos so my companion and I gave him a photo of Jesus and children. Although we can't speak his language, God can because God speaks the language of the heart. The whole time we talked with this lady I could tell that God was speaking to her and that she could feel his love. We are doing all that we can so that E and her two kids can come to church and receive a testimony of the Gospel!

This week in my studies, I learned a lot about the Holy Ghost and how we can receive personal revelation through him. As confirmed members of the church, we have the blessing of the constant guide of the Holy Ghost. Every day he can testify to our hearts the things we are doing are things that will bring us closer to Christ and warning us of things that will make us stray further from Christ. Not only does he give us counsel for what we should do with our lives on a daily bases but also how we can learn more about Christ, how we can become more like Him, and how we can experience joy like Him.

For every person, we have different ways to feel the spirit. I want to challenge all of you to look for your ways you can feel the spirit. God will give you his words of comfort and guidance through the feelings and promptings of the spirit.

If you aren't a member of the church, I would invite you to pray for guidance from God.You too have the ability to feel the spirit and know what God is saying to you. God is calling you. Talk to Him. You will feel his love and guidance more abundantly in your life.

Hope this week is full of new beginnings and beautiful things!
Les amo,
Hermana Beardall

p.s. Perdon pero no tango fotos de esta semana. Voy a tomar mas fotos esta semana. Les amo muchísimo! :)

ANOTHER CAMBIO HAS COME AND GONE AND...

Hey fam! I am still in Colinas and my companion is the lovely Hermana Noh once a gain!! WAHOO!!

Ok sooo let me tell you about this week!!

Miercoles: we celebrated the birthday of R!! I have pictures of their family so you can finally see who I am talking about! It isn't the day of her birthday but hey photos are photos :) We read scriptures together and ate cake on her birthday :)

Jueves: We taught the priesthood to one of our Recent Converts that received the priesthood this pass Sunday. I don't know why but he was nervous to stand up and he was all confused when he should raise his right hand. My companion and I love teaching him because he makes learning and teaching the gospel a fun experience and not a dry lecture. He is so excited to have the priesthood and be a priesthood holder in his family. He shared his testimony Domingo and wow! His testimony is so powerful and beautiful and wow his testimony gave me the chills!

Sabado: I have photos of my beloved English Class students :) Familia M, and A, and V L (Uncle and niece).

Hope y'all enjoyed an American 4th of July and I will write more next week!

ADIOS!
Les amo mucho!

RAIN

Dear family,

This week we have had a lot of rain!! The streets are rivers pretty much every day.

I have an investigador named R. G. and she is all ready to be baptized except for the fact that she smokes (Word of Wisdom). She smoked A LOT. When I came to the area she had just recieved a priesthood blessing. When I was companions with Hna Davis, she went from 2 packets a week to two a day and now she is down to one a day. I know that she was given the strength to quit smoking the number she did because of the power of the priesthood and the blessing that she recieved.

This fast Sunday, my companion and I are doing a fast with her and she will also recieve another priesthood blessing. I know that she has the power to stop smoking and I know that this fast and blessing will help her understand that she can!

With the son of R., my companion and I are reading the Book of Mormon. He is nine years old and the only active member of the church in his family (His mom is an investigador and his dad is Less Active). I love reading  with him because every time we read, he understands more and he loves to read the book of mormon! He is a happy kid with a wonderful testimony of the Book of Mormon that is growing with every chapter he reads! Sometimes he reads more than one chapter in the time we give him to read one chapter. He is a great strength to his family who is reactivating and accepting the gospel in their home!

Sorry I haven't sent many photos but the cafes we go to don't have very good USB thingys but we found a new place so I am going to try to send some photos today!

I love y'all and hope all is well!

GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL!!!

Dear Familia,

I am sitting here and writing in an internet cafe and in the time that I have been here, Mexico has made three goals. That's a lot!!

GOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! ( But honestly, I swear the person is saying goal for a minute straight)

Also, all of Mexico is hiding in their house because it's the world cup. The streets are pretty desolate when Mexico plays.

Ok. So I have two weeks to tell you about and MAN have these weeks been a whilrwind of emotions.

So the week that I didn't write a lot: I was under a lot of stress and I got sick. I'm fine now, but I was sick mas o menos for a week. Better said that I was under the weather for a week. In this week, I really had to look for the Atonement and really rely on my Savior to help me feel better and have the strength to work and to understand the spanish and the people. My testimony was strengthened on the power of the Atonement and that through prayer we can access His peace and his help to strenghten us and clean us of our sins and afflitions.

In that Monday, there came a moment to share this story with my investigator, R. She has been recieving the missionaries for three years and has a baptisimal date for september 6. The spirit was so strong and I could feel that she understood my story and understood that I had a testimony of the Atonement and that she could have the same. She has many things that are hard in her life, but she is learning how important the Savior is in her life. I love to watch this change in her and can really see her love for the gospel!

My companion and I have also had many moments of ups and downs were we needed to access the atonement to repent, restrengthen, and come closer as companions. Truth be told, I love my companion, Hermana Noh! She is always teaching me things that has helped me love being a missionary!

MOM!!! I RECIEVED YOUR PACKAGE!!!! I went to the offices (with permission of the president) and retrieved the package for myself!!! I was holding so tight to that package and praying my heart out because I didn't want a single drop of rain or anything to impede me from having my package. Thank you a million times a  million!!!!!!!!!! I loved the pictures and McKayla's Graduation announcement and the braclets!!! I put the photos in my scriptures and I carry them with so much pride and as for the garments AHH what a blessing!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!

Also, this week has been a down pour of rain. The way the streets are constructed and where the city is built, the streets become rivers and wow WE ARE DRENCHED!!! But, truth be told, it makes missionary work so much more entertaining! Haha also, with the slug bugs (because there are millions here in mexico- the old kind) I am teaching my companion the colors in english. Let's just say she is pretty good with her colors now :)

Speaking of teaching english, I have my very own english class here in Mexico!! Every saturday at 12 I am teaching members and investigators the basics of english. I teach the class with Hermana Greenberg, another american sister inmy district. My english class, after my calling as a missionary, is my pride and joy! I love teaching them English!! The price of the classes is listening to us, as missionaries, teach a simple lesson about the gospel. In this way, it is easier for the members to one learn english and two share the gospel with their friends. I love it.

Well, I just vomitted a bunch of words. Thank you for reading my word vomit (for those who really read it) and we will talk next week!

Out into the rivers to get wet and spread the gospel,
Hermana Beardall

SONRISA (Smile)

Dear Family,

This week was a week of little smiles, little rays of sunshine. Last week my companion gave me the  talk by Joseph B. Wirthlin called "Venga lo que venga, disfrútalo" or Something along the lines of "come what may, enjoy it." This week I have been working on truly enjoying my mission.

Let me just tell you, every day there was a moment every day that was simple and sweet and definitely enjoying my mission.

On Thursday we had a full agenda visiting new people and our converts too. But, sometimes the plans fall through and plan b too. Thursday this happened and we decided to visit an investigator named R, whom we didn't put in our plans for the day. We didn't know exactly what to teach but we went in with a prayer in our hearts and began to read Ether 12 with the family. This day, D, the spouse of R was home (which is rare bc of his work) and both were in the lesson. We read the entire chapter and asked questions. R began crying and telling us that this night and this chapter was an answer to their prayers como family. I had no idea the impact of this chapter, but I know that our plans fell through for a reason and that we visited this family for a reason. God is always answering our prayers!

Sunday, was another beautiful, beautiful smile. We were singing the opening hymn when I realized that J wasn't in church. I was worried because she told us that she could come and this day was important because we were waiting for her confirmation. After the opening prayer and many prayers in my own heart, J walked into the chapel and sat down next to me and my companion. She was confirmed and I honestly couldn't stop smiling. It was another beautiful moment with my dear dear J.

God is always aware of all of his children. Don't you forget that. God answers our prayers and blesses us in ways we can't even imagine! Don't forget to look for the little smiles that God gives you every day because there are many. We most definitely have something to smile about!!

SONRISAS,
Hermana Beardall (aka Hermana "Birthday" for those who can't pronounce my name :) )
